21Vianet shares jump in Nasdaq debut

Shares of 21Vianet Group Inc soared 25 percent on Thursday after as the Chinese Internet data center services provider tapped into the investor appetite for Chinese technology stocks. The shares finished their first day of trading at $18.80 after the company sold more shares than expected at a price above the proposed range in its initial public offering on Wednesday.
The company, which says is the largest of its kind in China by revenue, has been operating at a loss for the past three years. It hosts servers and networking equipment, also tapping the hot cloud computing market.
