The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) being a public sector organisation has complied with the Sacked Employees (Re-instatement Act, 2010) as such as all categories of employees who fall as sacked employees under the provisions of the Act have been reinstated and regularised.
In December 2010, the Parliament passed an Act called "Sacked Employees Re-instatement Act, 2010" in which all organisations in the public sector were advised to reinstate and regularise the services of all persons who were appointed as regular, contract or ad hoc employees including trainees during the period from 1st day of November, 1993 to 30th day of November, 1996 and were dismissed, removed or terminated from service during the period from 1st day of November, 1996 to 12th day of October, 1999.
As many as 302 trainees whose training was terminated during the period, approached the company for reinstatement under the Act and were reinstated and regularised as per provisions of the Act. The OGDCL in accordance with the Act issued regularisation orders of 302 persons who are categorised as sacked employees wef 08-12-2010 to such persons who approached within 90 days as prescribed in the said Act and submitted applications for reinstatement under "Sacked Employees Re-instatement Act, 2010."-PR
