At least three workers of an oil exploration company were shot dead while three others were injured in Barkhan (a border area of Punjab-Balochistan) on Monday, police said. According to details, some unidentified gunmen attacked a workers' camp in Barkhan and opened fires on the workers.
As a result, three persons were killed. The deceased persons were identified as Sajjad Amed, Rab Nawaz and Mohammad Bux while three others wounded in the incident. The injured were shifted to district hospital Dera Ghazi Khan where they were stated in critical condition. Sources said deceased workers were from Pannu Aqil, Sindh.
Police registered a case and started investigation. Medical Superintendent of Dera Ghazi Khan Hospital Dr Yousaf Chughtai said that three workers Hameed, John Khan and Nawaz, who sustained serious injuries, were admitted to hospital. He said that bodies of the ill-fated workers dispatched to their home in Pannu-Aqil.
