Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday said that although situation of Karachi is complicated but its solution could be sought through consensus with allies. Talking to a news channel, she said that circumstances of Karachi are totally different from Swat and Malakand so it is not suitable to launch an army operation there.
She said that experiences of army operations in past in Karachi to establish peace were not result-oriented. Firdous Ashiq said that beside government, other political parties and civil society have to play a positive role to make the city peaceful.
Participating in the discussion, Senator Mushahidullah also said that army operation is not a solution of the issue as previous military government could not maintain peace in Karachi.
