All set for the smooth and transparent holding of by-election in PK-69, Tank district on March 21 (today). Official sources in Election Commission informed, here on Sunday, that all arrangements have been finalised for the polling, wherein 21 candidates would muscle for the office of Member Province Assembly.
The EC has set up 96 polling stations for about 125,000 eligible voters. The polling will start at 8am and continue till 5pm without any break. EC has entrusted Presiding Officers the powers of Magistrate-I. It has also imposed complete ban on transfers and postings of civil and police officers in the district to make by-election of PK-69 Tank's transparent, free and fair.
Supporters of the candidates, also, have established corner booths at premises of polling stations for education of voters. They have also arranged transport for the facilitation of voters.
The seat had fallen vacant when former MPA Gulistan Bhittani resigned after his rival candidate Habibullah Kundi challenged the authenticity of his degree in the Supreme Court.
