'PPP set to invoke Article 6 against Shahbaz'

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is all set to invoke Article 6 of the Constitution against Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif for violating Constitution for accommodating defectors of PML-Q. Secretary Information PPP Punjab Dr Fakhruddin said the Chief Minister Punjab is a mockery of the Constitution under 18th amendment and he is going to file writ petition in the court of law against him on Thursday. He said defection from party was not allowed under Constitution.
According to him, he would challenge the action under Article 6 and seek lodging of FIR against him. Dr Fakhruddin said he was supportive to the policy of reconciliation of President Zardari but still he would file petition against Shahbaz Sharif on behalf of PPP as well as in his personal capacity.
He also criticised Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for getting in the parliament through undemocratic forces and said Chaudhry Nisar was working on keeping Nawaz Sharif away from parliamentary role. He said Chaudhry Nisar was a pro-dictatorship person. He also lambasted Chaudhry Nisar for misstating that there was no torture on President Zardari during detention in 1999 and showed a pamphlet carrying picture of tortured President Zardari and said that the then IG Rana Maqbool had tortured President Zardari heavily.
He said irresponsible statements from Chaudhry Nisar were instigating the separatist forces in Sindh and Balochistan to challenge the federation. He said the PPP was a symbol of federalism in Pakistan and it would never let anybody to cause loss to the federation through foolish statements. On anti-encroachment drive of Punjab government, PPP Punjab Information Secretary demanded that the Chief Minister Punjab should demolish illegal plaza of his Law Minister as well.
He also demanded making public of recommendations of Former Opposition leader Chaudhry Zaheer led committee on the illegal plaza of Punjab Law Minister committee. He also criticised Punjab Law Minister for supporting terrorist organisations and urged him to resign immediately.
