Federal Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Babar Awan has said there is no threat of clash among the state institutions till they remain within parameters prescribed by the constitution. Talking to newsmen in Lahore on Saturday he said PPP believes in politics of reconciliation and will continue to follow it in the future.
He said that PPP leadership has always been criticised by media; however, PPP government will ensure the protection of freedom of expression, being enjoyed by an independent media in the country. He further said that PPP would ensure freedom of media and would not allow passage of any anti-media law from parliament.
He said the political people elect president of the country, therefore, the president cannot be non-political. He advised the movers of judicial martial law to come back to the fold of parliamentary politics, as the government would complete its tenure.
He also criticised the PML-N for chanting slogans against President Zardari in the Punjab provincial assembly and added that it did not send good message to small provinces like Sindh. He criticised Aashiana Housing Scheme of Punjab government and termed it Afsana (short story) scheme.
