Taking notice of the Friday's strike called by the ruling Pakistan People's Party (PPP) against the SC verdict, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered a report over the loss of life and property during the strike, a private TV channel reported late Saturday.
People's Party called a strike on Friday against the Supreme Court's Thursday verdict of declaring the appointment of former justice Deedar Hussain Shah as ultra vires of the Constitution. According to the channel, the court has asked the Sindh Chief Secretary and Sindh Assembly Secretary to provide information in this regard. The court has also ordered submission of report with regard to a resolution passed by Sindh Assembly against the court verdict and the speeches delivered by PPP members of the assembly, the channel added.
