Soyabeans futures at the Chicago Board of Trade fell sharply on Monday amid prospects of a bumper crop in South America, traders said. May soyabeans fell for the first time in five sessions, the biggest one-day drop in nearly two weeks. Soymeal and soyoil fell in tandem with soyabeans.
CBOT soyabean futures for March fell 20 cents to $13.87-3/4 a bushel in volume of 2,035 lots, trading in a range of $13.79-3/4 to $14.08. May soyabean fell 19 cents to $13.95 a bushel. CBOT soyabean meal futures for March fell $5.70 to $358.10 a ton, trading in a range of $356.50 to $364.20. May fell $6.30 to $363.40 a ton. CBOT soyabean oil futures for March fell 0.39 cent to 58.57 cents a lb, trading in a range of 58.15 to 59.00. May fell 0.38 cent to 59.10 cents a lb.
