Chairman Pakistan Steel Shamshad Qureshi has urged for long-term financial and management policy for the country's largest steel producing plant to make it profitable. He was addressing a reception hosted by workers of KMCD, Railways, COBP and AMH department here on Monday.
He said that short-term measures and acting appointment of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) are the basic reasons of current crisis in the Pakistan Steel. Therefore, it is necessary to appoint a permanent CEO to run the mill in a professional manner. In addition, the federal should announce long-term steel policy, besides withdrawal of anti-steel mill SROs, he urged.
"Government should also take action against the consumers and federal board of revenue officials, who has damaged the Pakistan Steel," he demanded. On the occasion Vice Chairman Muhammad Ali Zardari, President Dhani Buksh Samoon, general secretary Syed Hameedullah, Visal Muhamamd Khan, Maqsood Bhatti, Mirza Tariq Jaweed, Khadim Ali Shah, Muhammad Jaweed, Ahmed Neazi and Saleem Soomro also spoke.-PR
