Traffic police lack facilities

Now-a-days when man has reached on the moon and western societies have reached to such extent of advancement that they only press a button and get the job done; but Pakistani society is standing at the brim of modernisation, one of its examples is the system of traffic police.
Recently when Business Recorder asked Ali Shair Jakhrani AIG Welfare Sindh Police about the facilities traffic personnel may have, he told this scribe that Sindh police provides medical facilities to every police individual without any discrimination of rank, but a traffic constable explained the realities here on Saturday.
Three months back he faced a psychiatric problem, he himself managed the expenses of the treatment of his problem. Later when he submitted his bills and leave application for three months, the department instead of reimbursing the amount cut his one and a half months salary. The reason for this cruel some action has been given that why didn't the personnel go for his treatment to the Sindh Police Hospital? Where as Sindh police hospital does not have a psychology department yet.
It's really amazing that while giving such reason to a constable was the department unaware of the realty. 'Yes no discrimination of rank'. The department gives the glasses and masks to its personnel only once in two years. Due to much pollution masks become useless just after one week, where as the glasses were of very poor quality, broke away just after one month.
Police personnel also do not have a travelling facility neither air nor train. Army provides a C-130 facility to its jawans and their families for inter country travelling but police personnel do not have such facility. Police department has done a marvellous job while opening a welfare department for its jawans. It is demanded from Ali Shair Jakhrani that the motto of welfare department no discrimination of rank shouldn't be left in papers but make it a reality.
