The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has achieved a major breakthrough in the health sector with the support of German government. German government has supplied latest teaching laboratories and established Paramedical Teaching Institute (PTI) under its GIZ Health Sector Programme in Pakistan including AJK.
The Counsellor for Economic Co-operation and Development Embassy (CECDE) of the Federal Republic of Germany in Pakistan Mrs Antje Grawe and the Secretary Health AJK, Brigadier Dr Kamal-ud-din Soomro inaugurated the labs, unveiling the commemoration plaque. Speaking on the occasion Antje emphasised the need for better training opportunities in Pakistan and AJK.
She urged for the necessity of skilled professionals to ensure patient's safety in the light of new technological development in health care sector. Addressing the ceremony Dr Kamal-ud-din Soomro said the AJK government was bent upon to provide paramedical students a suitable learning environment to practice basic skills required for lab oratory technicians, operation theater assistance and radiographer.
He said emergence of the latest teaching laboratories would provide opportunity to the students for initial practice of different types of procedures to ensure patient safety and familiarise with the handling of medical equipment. Secretary Health said necessary steps were being taken for the uplift of health services in AJK harmonious to need of the modern age with prime focus for the dispensation of required health cover to the ailing humanity across AJK.
