Managing Committee Sindh Club hosted the annual Amir Sultan Chinoy Memorial Bridge Tournament, at their premises, on Wednesday, February, 23, 2011. Late Amir Chinoy, scion of the Chinoy family of pre-partition India, is the illustrious son of Sir Sultan Chinoy and nephew of Sir Rahimtoola Chinoy.
Historical figure Sir Rahimtoola is recalled, for the leading role played by him, as votary of Aga Khan, the third, towards the Founding of the Muslim League in the Vicergal Lodge at Simla on October 1, 1906. To the Viceroy Lord Minto's query in the Darbar, for the purpose of the Muslim League: Sir Rahimtoola rendered the landmark quote: "To promote the feelings of loyalty of the Muslims to the British Crown."
Fifty plus Bridge Playing members of the Anglicized Sindh Club participated in the Amir Sultan Chinoy Memorial Bridge Tournament. Laurels went to Mrs Qudsia Mohammed Hussain Dossa and her partner Mrs Fizza Adamjee. Picture shows the winning pair of Qudsia and Fizza holding the prized Amir Sultan Chinoy Trophy. Runner up at the arrangements was another Bridge aficionado, connoisseur, namely Rubina Saeed Hai, Qudsia Dossa's elder daughter, and Rubina's colleague Amir Yasin.
