Transports strike hurt the business sentiment on the wholesale grain market on Thursday, dealers said. Though some needy buyers were active to meet their urgent needs, they said. On the cereal side khandsari was quoted higher at Rs 6500-7300, other items retained overnight levels in process of subdued business, they said.
On the grams side, grams Australia lost sharply by Rs 200 to Rs 4700-4900, grams dal Australia followed same pattern, losing Rs 100 to Rs 5700-5900 and grams 50x50 drifted lower by Rs 125 to Rs 5150-5350, they added. On the seed side cottonseeds oilcake with bag low type was up by Rs 25 to Rs 1325 and best type also gained Rs 15 to Rs 1375, rapeseeds Mirpurlane inferior type retained overnight level at Rs 2100 and best type was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 2150, Cakes shed Rs 30 to Rs 850-860, other items maintained the previous levels, they said. Prices on the rice sector did not move any side in process of trading, they said.
