Airbus order book in the red so far this year

Airbus received more cancellations than new orders in the first two months of the year, according to the European aircraft manufacturer's latest commercial report released on Thursday. The company registered 40 new orders in the first two months of the year, while orders for 43 aircraft were cancelled.
In the month of February alone, orders for 18 medium-haul A320 aircraft, 12 A350-900 long-haul planes and one A330-200 were cancelled. Airbus, a subsidiary of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company, delivered 73 aircraft during the two months. Its main rival, the US company Boeing, booked 45 new orders and 36 cancellations as of February 22, according to information posted on its website. It did not publish the number of deliveries made so far this year.
