Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, has approved construction of 1.6 kilometres road from Utmanzai Bazar to Munkar Bridge, Charsadda. The required financial resources for the project would be met out of the saving in the construction project of 26.40-km road from Shakh No 6 to Nissata Motorway interchange. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had allocated an amount of Rs 377.883 million for this project under ADP 2010-11.
The Chief Minister diverted the saving for construction of 1.6km road from Utmanzai to Munkar Bridge keeping in view the present dilapidated condition of Utmanzai Bazar as well as heavy traffic load on Farooq Azam Chowk, Charsadda Bazar and Rajar Bazar. The newly approved project, on completion, would also reduce distance between the Motorway Interchange and Umerzai, Harichand and Tangi areas of District Charsadda.
