The Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, has termed the murder of the Federal Minister for Minorities, Shahbaz Bhatti, as a big conspiracy. He said this seemed to be an activity to divert the public opinion in Pakistan from the Raymond David issue and to give it a new direction.
He said, there was even the possibility of the CIA hand, behind the murder to intensity pressure on the Pakistan government for Raymond's release. Meanwhile, the JI chief Syed Munawar Hasan has expressed the view that US or Nato military action in Libya would further deteriorate the situation there. He stressed upon the Arab League to take notice of the matter instead of the Western countries and pressurise Colonel Gaddafi to quit.
He said there was no doubt that the situation in Libya had worsened due to Gaddafi's stubbornness. In many cities, the things had gone out of control and the government was raining bullets on its own people and shedding their blood. In spite of all that, the US, Nato and the Western countries had no right to intervene and send their troops in the oil rich Muslim country.
He said that Britain's assertion of Libya possessing Chemical weapons that could be used against the protestors was exactly like the US excuse for attacking Egypt but George Bush proved to be a great liar. The JI chief said that in fact, the Western powers were searching for an excuse for a military action in Libya to capture its vast oil reserves but the OIC should intervene and check Washington's plot.
