Due to the law and order situation in the country, the sightseeing/tourist places for the international tourists, are almost idle, this is the high time that government should take some drastic actions to save the tourist places and the heritage of Pakistan both for the domestic and international tourists, as well.
Government should also formulate a balanced policy to enhance their exchequer through tourism; this was stated by the Chairman, Travel Agents Association of Pakistan, M Yahya Polani at his residence on Monday night on the occasion of farewell dinner in honour of Darayus Happy Minwalla, the outgoing Country Manager of Cathay Pacific. To streamline the affairs of the national carrier, it is imperative that government should induct the private sector, so that the deficit of PIA will definitely be gone down, which is presently on the skyrocketing. He said the surplus in the employment, creating an alarming situation for the national carrier.
Furthermore, Yahya Polani suggested that PIA should include in its Board of Directors, the persons who are well aware about the problems of aviation. Yahya Polani commended the tremendous services of Happy Minwalla in promoting the affairs of Cathay Pacific during his tenure.
Darayus Happy Minwalla thanked to Yahya Polani and also TAAP members, who gave their fullest support to him during his tenure. This is not the one-man-show, but all the employees of Cathay Pacific from top to bottom are the stakeholders of Cathay Pacific in its success, Minwalla supplemented.
Minwalla also said that at any stage, if PIA requires him, he would be happy to do so and put his share for the national carrier. The event was largely attended by Saleem Siyani (DMD PIA), Mustafa Khan (Country Manager IATA-Pakistan), Arif Ali Abbasi (Ex-MD PIA), Feroz Jamal, Feroz Yunus, Hanif Rinch, Nadeem Sharif (Former Chairman TAAP), Hanif Dossani, Sardar Rafiq Khan Bukhari, Haji Masood Parekh, Abdul Kalam, Mirza Atif Baig, Ken Marshal, Saleem Ahmed (Secretary General TAAP) and many others.
