Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Chief, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday rejected the increase in oil prices and asked the government to facilitate public by eradicating corruption and tax evasion. Addressing the workers of PML-N Sindh at a consultative meeting at his Model Town residence here on Tuesday he said.
"Those who spread bloodshed in Karachi were not arrested otherwise Karachi would have been hub of business activities." He reiterated the demand of judicial probe of May 12, incidents in Karachi. He said that restoration of peace in Karachi is necessary for creation of conducive atmosphere for business activities. The PML-N leader criticised the PPP-led government for following the policies introduced by a dictator. He also said the PPP government had made fake promises and also violated the duly signed agreements.
Nawaz also said his party is determined to resolve problems being faced by the people of Sindh. "In the past, the people of Sindh had supported the PML-N for ending injustice and we would resolve their issues with public support," he said, adding, "The PML-N would set up industrial zones in Sindh apart from spreading network of roads and motorways, if Allah Almighty provides us an opportunity to serve them."
Nawaz assured the participants that the PML-N would remove the sense of deprivation from people of Sindh. Moreover, PML-N leader and senior Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has advised senior leadership of PPP to pay heed to the views of eminent PPP leader and a constitutional and legal expert Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, as according to him, the problems PPP is already facing, were the outcome of the wrong and mollified advice of its inept advisors.
Khosa said that Aitzaz Ahsan is an established constitutional and legal expert and his opinion regarding the constitution and its interpretation is given due importance by the Supreme Court and the legal experts while Babar Awan has been practising criminal law and dealing dacoity, theft and kidnapping cases. He said that only a constitutional expert can give advice on constitutional matters and PPP is fortunate to have a person like Aitzaz Ahsan but instead of benefiting from his advice the views of a criminal lawyer were being considered as the final word.
Khosa said, Aitzaz Ahsan has clearly stated that under the constitution of Pakistan, majority members of a party can elect parliamentary leader and if majority members of Pakistan Muslim League parliamentarians take a decision, the minority will have to follow it. He said Aitzaz Ahsan has made it clear that if majority members of PML-Q give vote of confidence to the Chief Minister of Punjab the minority members of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Zaheer-ur-Din will themselves come under defection clause if they do not support the decision. But, he said, it is strange that a criminal lawyer Babar Awan is being considered as authority on such matters.
