Alarming rise in crimes in Islamabad

Rise in incidents of car snatching, highway robberies, street crimes in the Federal Capital has caused panic among residents of Islamabad during the current week, while Capital Police claimed to have made hectic efforts to bring the crime graph to lowest ebb.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad has handed over key of 41 stolen vehicles to their owners, which were recovered after a massive crackdown in which nine gangs of inter-provincial car-lifters were busted and 34 car-jackers were arrested. Capital Police have claimed to have busted 21 gangs of criminals and arrested over 115 accused allegedly involved in crimes like robberies, bootlegging, drug pushing, possession of illegal arms and street crimes. But failed in curtailing the crime rate, particularly the highway robberies, which shown upward trend.
The data collected by Business Recorder from all 14 police stations of two Police Zones of Islamabad total 115 outlaws, including 15 women were arrested this week, besides over 250 suspects who have failed to prove their identity. The data revealed that people were deprived of 13 vehicles, including four Suzuki Mehran, two Suzuki Vans, one Suzuki Margalla, two Toyota Corolla, two pick ups, one Shahzore mini-truck and one Sherade car. People were also deprived of five motorcycles during the week.
As per data, people were deprived of valuables including gold ornaments, computers, electronic appliances, mobile phones, cash by thieves and robbers. During the week Capital Police recovered huge quantity of illegal arms, including three Klashnikove rifles, 24 pistols of (32-30 bore), one 7mm gun, three 12-bore guns, three dragger and more than one thousands bullets of different caliber.
During the week Islamabad Police also recovered drugs and liquor including 15kg charas, two-kg heroin, 700 bottles of liquor and three kg opium. Islamabad Police during the crackdown against car-jackers raided 39 places in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Fata, AJK and Central Punjab and recovered 41, including 13 Toyota Corolla cars, nine Suzuki Mehran cars, five Honda cars, four Suzuki carry, two Suzuki Khyber cars, two yellow cabs, one Suzuki Margalla, one Hyundai car, one Suzuki FX car, one truck, one pick up and one Charade car. Islamabad Police nabbed 34 car-jackers of nine gangs during their raids in different places. Fifteen accused namely Fayyaz Ahmed, Sherdil, Javed Khan, Imdadullah, Shoaib Kiani, Abdul Ghafar, Kabir Ahmed, Muhammad Imran, Wajeehullah, Muhammad Suleman, Tahir Khan, Muhammad Mursaleen, Muhammad Irfan Farman Ahmed and Touqeer Ahmed were nabbed from Islamabad, five namely Rizwan, Kamran, Usman, Abid and Naqib Khan from Abbottabad, four namely Mazher Hussain, Umerzada, Muhammad Khursheed and Muhammad Hayat from Swabi, three namely Hammad Ali, Ajmal Khan and Muhammad Akhtar from Peshawar, two namely Zahid Tanvir and Tahiq Masih from Faisalabad, two namely Muhammad Idrees and Muhammad Imran from Lahore, one Muhammad Imran from Rawalpindi, one Anwer Ali from Swat and one Imran Ishfaq from Sahiwal.
