PPP, PML-N urged to show tolerance

Published Updated

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is emerging as a third option in political scenario of Pakistan. Pakistan People's Party and PML-N should show tolerance and farsightedness in the current situation, as the country can't afford mid-term elections.
Talking to newsmen at Press Club on Saturday Dr Farooq Sattar said that MQM would take a decisive step for a peaceful revolution in its April 10 rally in Lahore and raising the living standard of the poor people. This revolution would help in changing the destiny of the masses besides giving maximum autonomy to the provinces. "MQM has now become a national level party, it is the last hope for the poor people and to bring about change in the country's system," he said. People all over the country were joining MQM because of its policies, he added.
Dr Sattar said the visit of PPP leaders should be taken as a goodwill gesture in order to promote mutual understanding between MQM and PPP. He said that it was made possible because of the vision of MQM leader, Altaf Hussain and President, Asif Zardari. "We made some promises nearly three years ago and today is the day for renewing those pledges. We will continue to increase these contacts so that distances are bridged and resentments are removed," Dr Sattar said adding that it was necessary to make Sindh strong in order to bring stability in the country. "We can solve the problems of the people by forging unity," he observed. He said that the problems being faced by the people could be solved if both the parties worked supporting of each other.
