Qadhafi termed 'stupid' on remarks against Pakistan: National Assembly session

Opposition lawmaker of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) on Thursday called upon the government to summon Libyan ambassador for Muammar Qadhafi's remarks against Pakistan and also suggested severing diplomatic ties with Libya.
Speaking on a point of order in the National Assembly, the opposition lawmaker Shiekh Waqas Akram also tagged the Libyan leader Muammar Qadhafi as "stupid" while criticising him for his remarks against Pakistan, asking the government to summon the Libyan ambassador for explanation.
Referring to the plight of Pakistani citizens in the violent-hit Libya, Waqas pointed out that many western countries have evacuated their citizens from Libya and also urged the government to direct Foreign Office to make arrangements for the safe return of Pakistani citizens plunged in the clashes. He said that many Pakistanis have been arrested, while some others feared dead in the on-going waves of violence in the country.
Earlier, Waqas pointed out the issue of protesting sacked employees of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL), saying that the company has removed over 90 employees in violation of the terms of agreement under which it was privatised to Etisalat.
He urged the government to intervene in the matter and asked the management of the PTCL to immediately restore the sacked employees. Meanwhile, responding to a call attention notice parliamentary secretary for Education Gul Mohammad Jhakhrani assured the House that up-gradation of federal government teachers was under process and it would be done.
About the strike of the federal government teachers, he said that the Prime Minister took the note of the issue and announced up-gradation of the teachers on the occasion of Teachers' Day and the teachers have called off the strike and assumed their duties. He said that the government was committed to resolve the problems of teachers and all out efforts would be made in this regard. The call attention notice has been moved by Muhammad Barjees Tahir, Raja Muhammd Asad, Tasneem Siddiqui, Ibrar Ahmad and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry of the PML-N regarding strike of the teachers of federal government schools.
