The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has planned to organise "Lahore shopping festival" commencing from April 4, 2011 to April 10, 2011 to expedite trade and business activities in the country.
Addressing a press conference, the LCCI President Shahzad Ali Malik and Senior Vice President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad on Wednesday said the festival is also aimed to highlight the soft image of country and to bring the investors back. They further disclosed that the Lahore shopping festival encompasses a range of business and cultural activities that would be kicked off with a Qira'at competition.
The LCCI president Shahzad Ali Malik said that the Lahore shopping festival would have in its fold first Punjab Expo 2011 that would be arranged at Lahore Expo Centre. It would be a three-day event where as many as 250 renowned business groups would showcase their products and on the sidelines of this exhibition an investment conference would also be held.
At the conference, a methodology to overcome the economic challenges being faced by the country would be given to the government. He said that both the federal and provincial governments have assured their full co-operation for the Lahore shopping festival. He said that the very objective of the Lahore Shopping Festival is to expedite the business activities in this part of the country.
