Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that there are vast opportunities of investment in different sectors of Punjab and government has provided an atmosphere conducive to investment as Punjab Investment Board is extending all out facilities to the investors.
He was talking to the ambassador of Finland in Pakistan Osmo Lipponen during a meeting, here on Monday, disclosed an official. Matters regarding bilateral relations as well as co-operation in various sectors were discussed on the occasion. The chief minister said there are cordial and friendly relations between Pakistan and Finland, however there is a need to promote trade and economic ties between the two countries. He said that Punjab government is implementing a comprehensive programme for speedy development and promotion of investment in the province, and for this purpose, an autonomous and vibrant board has been established that is extending all out encouragement and facilities to investors. "Education is essential for development of a country and in view of this fact, Punjab government is attaching top priority to the uplift of the sector and revolutionary measures are being taken in this regard," he added.
Shahbaz said that a major chunk of country's population comprises youth and hence special attention is being paid to the promotion of vocational education in the province. Tevta and institutes of Punjab Vocational Training Council have been fully activated and a skilled workforce is being produced in accordance with the market needs. He further said that Punjab Educational Endowment Fund was established first time in the country's history to help talented students continue their studies, adding that scholarships are being given from the fund to the brilliant students studying at Lums, FAST, NUST and other prominent educational institutions.
