'UVAS efforts to raise academic, research indicators'

The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) is making all out efforts to raise its academic and research indicators to compete international standards with the motto "Sky is the limit". This was stated by the UVAS Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz while speaking on concluding session on "3-day internship orientation workshop" for DVM final year 128 students, organised by faculty of veterinary science here on Saturday at seminar hall.
Dean faculty of veterinary science Professor Dr Nasim Ahmad, dean faculty of biosciences Professor Dr Ijaz Ahmad, Australian Support Linkage Programme (ASLP) representative Dr Russel, David, Dr Hassan Warraich and UVAS registrar Professor Dr Kamran Ashraf attended the workshop.
UVAS Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz said, "it is regarded as new beginning towards professional life adding that life is not bed of roses". He urged the students be focused and concentrated on their targets and futuristic goals. There is no short cut in life be innovative and work hard the ultimate destiny will be triumph.
Dr Nawaz stated that internships are a great way to earn as you learn while you gain valuable experience in your chosen field like government and private sectors offering a golden opportunity. He categorically stated that be contacted with the mother institution and earned good name for this. "UVAS is going to become the world top veterinary university across the world by providing quality education our best has yet come we work to achieve best".
UVAS Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz said, "if you have skilled and enthusiastic with your profession money will follow you". He also proposed undergraduate alumni to strengthen the UVAS family". Dean faculty of veterinary science Professor Dr Nasim Ahmad said that "there is no public sector university offering internship for the students we are the unique one' adding that we managed third DVM batch. The purpose of the hands on training is to get job and improve the weakness and understand the professional behaviour. While National Labrador specialty show was held University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Saturday.
The national show was organised by UVAS in collaboration Kennel Club Pakistan and Gundog. Scores of breeders and exhibitors were participated. As many as 70 dogs male and female were brought for national show from across the province. The dog was assessed by internationally acclaimed judges, Margrett Brown, Andrew Brown and Horchner from UK and declared winner under the criteria of 64 points dogs head to tail and physically movement and appearance. Rachna Kennel club was declared best breeder. Chief guest of the national show Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz distributed souvenirs and certificates among the winner of the dog show participants.
