Implementation of 10-point agenda: people disappointed by PPP, says Nawaz

The 'unnatural alliance' between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) in Punjab is heading towards its logical end, as PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif on Saturday said the PPP led government had disappointed the nation as far as implementation of 10-point national agenda is concerned.
"Despite differences and strong reservations with the PPP-led government, the PML-N had given 10-point national agenda with full sincerity to run the national and international affairs in a better manner, but the PPP government had disappointed the nation," he said while addressing the PML-N activists and legislators hailing from Sheikhupura, Kasur, Nankana Sahib and Lahore at his Model Town residence.
The PML-N leader also criticised President Zardari and said they made an agreement with President Zardari to change the fate of the country but he (Zardari) broke the agreement only in a month. "President Zardari foiled every effort to resolve national issues," he said adding "Our sincerity to resolve issues was considered our weakness."
He further said, "We co-operated with the PPP government to get rid of loadshedding, poverty and inflation but President Zardari has spoiled all efforts." It may be noted that the PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif had given 10-point agenda to the PPP-led government to implement it within 45-days and had also announced that the PML-N would say 'goodbye' to the PPP Ministers in Punjab, if no headway in this regard was made. The deadline of 45 days is expiring on 24th February 2011.
Nawaz also expressed concern over country's present economic situation. Addressing the party workers from Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib, the PML-N leader said, "I am very concerned about the present situation in the country and now the people would have to decide about the fate of the present government." Talking about the issue of Raymond Davis case, the PML-N leader said that his party would continue its principle stance on this matter. "We would safeguard sovereignty and interests of the country at all cost," he said.
