Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Investment and former President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mohammad Zubair Motiwala has urged upon equitable distribution of gas and fair play and ministry of industries and production should come up with its inputs and suggest so that industries must not be penalised.
According to a report of Industry, Investment and Privatisation Sub-committee of KCCI, stated while referring the Articale-158 of the constitution of Pakistan that the provinces are allowed to utilise the maximum share of indigenous productions/ materials, whereas, Sindh province produce 72 percent of natural gas and its usage is 36 percent or less and large quantity of gas is supplied to Punjab.
Observing the shortage, it is found that Sindh province is facing 25 percent shortage whereas Punjab is having 15 percent shortage. He also urged the minister of industries and production to raise voice on subsidies issues and suggest special tariff for textile industry, Likewise, given to fertilisers industry and treatment of sectors keeping in view priorities of different sectors.
He asserted upon that ministry of industries and production to own the industries of Pakistan and raise voice for the protection of its privilege rights. He highlighted that the export-oriented industry clouds not compete in the international market and with the regional competitors due to high operational cost.
