Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Culture Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that the great poet and writer Ajmal Khan Khattak was the true follower of Fakhar-e-Afghan Bacha Khan and he was amongst the founder members of Khudai Khidmatgaar Tehrik. He added that late Ajmal Khattak was the practical symbol of the icon of non-violence of Bacha Khan.
This, he said, while addressing the Ist death anniversary of great Pashto poet Ajmal Khan Khattak at Bacha Khan Markaz Peshawar on Monday. The anniversary besides others was also addressed by the Provincial President of ANP Senator Afrasiab Khattak, Senior Minsiter Bashir Ahmad Bilour and son of late Ajmal Khattak, Aimal Khan Khattak and paid him glowing tributes.
The death anniversary was also attended by the provincial ministers, MNAs, Senators, MPAs and workers and office-bearers of ANP in large number. Mian Iftikhar Hussain said, Ajmal Khattak was not only of this land but was the favourite leader of the entire Pakhtun region, as he never talked of the particular areas of Pakhtun but always advocated the whole Pakhtun region. He further said that he was acknowledged in the world through his hard work.
The minsiter promised that they would purged the society of the menace of terrorism and extremism in light of the thinking of late Ajmal Khattak. Referring to the present critical situation, he said that peace in Afghanistan and Pakistan was interlinked and as and when USA, Pakistan and Afghanistan did not share intelligence information and omit the atmosphere of mistrust and doubts on each others, complete elimination of terrorism and bringing lasting peace in the region was impossible.
