Punjab Minister for Minorities and Human Rights, Kamran Michael has said the Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Department has signed an agreement with Technical Education Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) to impart technical and vocational training to minority youth in the province.
Presiding over a departmental meeting here on Monday, the minister informed that TEVTA will train and educate the students in different skills and trades from the minorities' communities residing in different parts of the Punjab province on merit within 5% quota reserved for minorities.
Michael said that the department would pay the required fee of the students and provide funds to TEVTA in advance to bear all expenditures in this regard. The minister said that the department wanted every poorest of the poor student to get education. He said that educational scholarships worth Rs 5 million for technical and vocational training of minority students through TEVTA would be given during the current fiscal year.
