Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 84,123 tonnes of cargo including 49,958 tonnes of import cargo, 34,165 tonnes of export cargo, 5,166 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 49,958 tonnes comprised of 49,056 tonnes of containerised cargo and 902 tonnes of general cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,165 tonnes comprised of 21,585 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,020 tonnes of general cargo; 6,260 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,171 tonnes of cement 805 tonnes of wheat; 4,284 tonnes of gandum and 3,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Seven ships namely Gulf Tiger, Ocean Host, BBC Hudson, MSC Jemima, Mariner, Strong and Williamsburg Bridge with oil tanker, Bulk cargo, general cargo, containers, vehicles, tug and containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Fourteen vessels viz BBC Hudson, MSC Jemima, Hiba Al-Noor, Mariner, Strong, Bella, Liberty Pride, Shayan-1, OOCL Charleston, APL Guangzhou, Blossom, Xuan De Men, CSL Ride and Union Hellen carrying general cargo, containers, bags, car carrier, tug, containers, car carrier, containers, oil tanker, general cargo, containers and bulk cargo respectively are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Unico Anna, Bella, Fatima-1 and Blossom carrying wheat, containers, cement and oil tanker expected to sail on Saturday, while two ships namely OOCL Charleston and APL Guangzhou with containers respectively are expected to sail on Sunday.
Three vessels viz Bunga Raya Empat, MOL Seabreeze and Daewoo Diamond carrying containers and xylene respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while three vessels viz Hyundai Oakland, Sakas and APL Brisbane with containers respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 82,130 tonnes of cargo includes 59,861 tonnes of import cargo and 22,269 tonnes of export cargo, 1,912 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 59,861 tonnes includes 26,100 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,287 tonnes of paraxlyiene, 1,528 tonnes of acetic acid; 16,656 tonnes of canola seeds and 10,290 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 22,269 tonnes includes 2,580 tonnes of cement; 2,625 tonnes of rice; 2,352 tonnes of wheat and 14,712 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely CV Safemarine, MT Mire and MV Alexi-1 sailed out to sea on Saturday morning, while two more ships namely MV Bright Eagle and MT Gem of Dahej are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz CV Safemarine, MV Trans Ocean, MV Bright Eagle, MV Alexi-1, MV Island Star, MV KT Al-Batross, MT Gem of Dahej, MT Purbasari and MT Mire are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, rice, canola seeds, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Dover, Khalid Bin Muuhieddin, Lahore, Iron Monger-5 and Harsandi carrying wheat, furnace oil and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV MSC Anafi, MT Harsandi, MT Navy Cosmos and MT Lahore carrying containers, chemicals and furnace oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-1), Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Saturday. A container ship namely CV Lobivia due to arrive on Saturday, while three more ships namely CV Maersk Georgia, CV MSC Aurelle, CV MSC Anafi and MT Argent Gerbera carrying containers and palm oil are due to arrive on Sunday.
