PITD delegation visits TCP

Thirty-five participants of 19th Specialised Training Programme (STP) conducted by Pakistan Institute of Trade and Development for the officers of Commerce & Trade Group, visited Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) at Karachi on Friday. The chairman TCP welcomed the participants and briefed them about the on-going business activities of TCP and its future plans.
A detailed presentation was also made about TCP's role played in the national economy particularly in improving supply line of essential commodities; provide relief to common man at affordable prices and to overcome the shortage of essential commodities. The visiting officers were informed that TCP is the trading arm of the government and acts only on specific directions/decisions of the ECC of Cabinet/ Government and posted profit of Rs 1.632 billions after tax during the last financial year. The participants were also informed that TCP is fully PPRA Rules complaint and has been endeavouring to maintain complete transparency in all procurements.
The participants took keen interest in the functioning of the organisation and appreciated the efforts made by TCP Management in implementing the government directives. Divisional heads and other concerned Officers of TCP also attended the briefing.-PR
