The economic stability, legal protection and more importantly role in the society are the major problems faced by the women in present era. This was the consensus of the speakers who spoke at a seminar in connection with Founding Day of All Pakistan Women Association (APWA) here Thursday.
The APWA President Rohi Syed said the 30-member executive committee of Punjab is actively playing its role to provide women in far-flung areas of Punjab with the health and education facilities. Other office-bearers including Rizwana Akram, Nighat Abbas and Sabahat Kazmi also spoke on the occasion and paid great tribute to the Begum Rana Liaqat Ali Khan and Zeenat Fida Hassan.
The speakers expressed their determination to continue efforts to ensure appropriate safety and respect for women in the society. A large number of women are benefited from this platform since 1947, they said and added that vital role was played by APWA in providing legal protection to the women. Moreover, the women who have been educated from APWA's institutions Khawar Rasheed, Naseem Rafaqat, Ruqqayah Yousaf, and Imtiaz also elaborate their hardships in this occasion.
