Telenor Pakistan on Thursday announced the next phase of its 'Karo Mumkin' initiative aimed at helping people in making an idea a reality. Addressing a press conference, Usman Javaid Director Marketing Telenor Pakistan said that Telenor Pakistan's Karo Mumkin show started in July 2010 to enable people to turn a patriotic idea into reality.
The Karo Mumkin show asked audience to send their ideas by responding to the question 'Where Do You See Pakistan in the Future?' 25,000 ideas were received of which two were selected by the jury. He further said that Telenor Pakistan is providing funds and tools needed for the projects' completion aimed at benefiting the people of Pakistan. It has been a fulfilling journey and this spirit will inspire others to launch similar initiatives," he added.
The two winning ideas that emerged from the recently concluded campaign will now be turned into projects, which would be launched later this year. The two winners shared details of their projects on this occasion. Projects owners, Fariha Ambreen and Abdul Haq Mohiuddin talked about their projects "Recycle Paper to Provide Notebooks to Schools for Under Privileged Children" and "Donate Rs 100 from your Monthly Salary to Make Education Possible for Street Children", respectively.
Fariha Ambreen said that it has been a gratifying experience to work on the project with Telenor Pakistan. I am in talks with 50-plus organisations, which will become collection points for waste paper; I have already spoken with a premium packaging company in Lahore to convert the waste paper into notebooks, she added.
Abdul Haq Mohiuddin said that with Telenor Pakistan's help and the project management consultants, the idea was turned into reality. A website would be launched to help people donate online and through easy paisa services. To implement their ideas, the two winners will establish NGOs with the name of 'Sabz' and 'Edvolution'. Telenor Pakistan representatives will act as advisory members on the Board of Trustees.
