Federal Secretary Environment Khawja Muhammad Naeem has said that ENERCON has succeeded in obtaining important policy directives at the highest level for enhancing the energy conservation potential in all sectors of the economy by providing conducive environment to these objectives.
He further said that import duty on renewable energy equipments has been made zero rated, which is landmark initiative of the government. He stated this while addressing in the launching ceremony of Motor Vehicle Fitness Certification Model Center at Toyota Islamabad Motors here on Wednesday.
ENERCON in collaboration with Toyota Islamabad Motors has lunched the project to ensure environment friendly atmosphere fuel conservation and safety of drivers and vehicles. The programme is being initiated at first stage in Islamabad, which would later be expanded throughout Pakistan.
The ceremony was attended by MD ENERCON Fareed Ullah Khan, Muhammad Safdar Awan Chairman Toyota Islamabad Motors, Amir Awan, Sehar Awan, General Manager Aman Mirza, Chief Technical Officer ENERCON, ECF, Asif Masood and prominent personalities of corporate sector.
Secretary Environment said that fuel saving exercise is need of the time and energy conservation is a cheap, quick way to slash energy costs and save foreign exchange. He said provincial governments to bring all road playing vehicles under the ambit of motor vehicle safety and emission controls for better safety, security and environment while fitness and maintenance standard must be enforced for ensuring pollution-free environment. He commended the efforts of ENERCON and Toyota Motors for initiating a programme, which is the need of the hour and will go a long way to bring about a healthy change in environment.-PR
