FBR transfers, postings

In a major reshuffling, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has transferred and posted nine officials of Inland Revenue Service (Grade-21-20) with immediate effect. The FBR has also transferred four officials of Pakistan Customs Service with immediate effect.
In this connection, the FBR has issued notifications here on Tuesday. Sources told Business Recorder that the transfers and postings on key positions in the field formations have been done keeping in view policy of merit and honesty. Under the restructuring of the Board, the first step is transfer of proper officials at important position, who can deliver results having honest background. The integrity of the persons has been given top priority while making these transfers and postings under the policy to ensure maximum revenue collection through proper strategy of the Board.
The LTUs of Karachi and Lahore are the most important revenue contributors and due care has been taken while making transfers and postings at these key positions. During this reshuffling, the FBR Admin Wing and FBR IR Wing have given priority to integrity, efficiency, performance and merit to ensure proper collection in the field formations. The FBR has full support of Minister of Finance as well as FBR Chairman for deputation of most experienced and honest tax officials in the field formations.
It is expected that the transfers and postings would help in checking the leakage and plugging the loopholes to generate revenue and broaden the tax base, officials added. According to the notification, Khalid Aziz Banth (Inland Revenue Service/BS-21), Member, Awaiting Posting, FBR (Hq) Islamabad, have been transferred as Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Large Taxpayers Unit, Lahore; Shahid Hussain Jatoi (Inland Revenue Service/BS-20) from Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office-III, Karachi to Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Large Taxpayers Unit, Karachi; Shahid Nasim (Inland Revenue Service/BS-21) from Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Large Taxpayers Unit, Lahore to Director General, Directorate General of Training & Research (Inland Revenue), Lahore; Imtiaz Ahmad Barakzai (Inland Revenue Service/BS-21) from Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office, Karachi to Member, Federal Board of Revenue (Hq), Islamabad; Yasmin Saud (Inland Revenue Service/BS-21) from Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Large Taxpayers Unit, Karachi to Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office-III, Karachi; Muhammad Raza Baqir (Inland Revenue Service BS-20) from Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office-II, Karachi to Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office, Karachi (He is assigned the Additional Charge of Chief Commissioner-IR, RTO-II, Karachi in addition to his own duties.); Muhammad Iqbal Ahmad (Inland Revenue Service/BS-20) from Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office, Sargodha to Chief, Federal Board of Revenue (Hq), Islamabad; Dr Muhammad Irshad (Inland Revenue Service/BS-20) from Commissioner Inland Revenue (Enforcement Division-I), Regional Tax Office, Islamabad to Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office, Sargodha and Vishno Alias Raja Qavi (Inland Revenue Service/BS-20) from Commissioner, (Audit Division) Regional Tax Office, Karachi has been transferred as Director, Withholding Taxes (Camp Office), Karachi.
Through another notification, Razia Sultana Taher, Director General, Directorate General of Internal Audit (Customs), Karachi have been transferred as Chief Collector (South), Karachi; Aftab Anwar Baloch, Director General, from Directorate General of Post Clearance Audit, Islamabad to Chief Collector (North), Lahore; Umar Farooq, Chief Collector from Chief Collector (North), Lahore to Directorate General of Internal Audit (Customs), Karachi and Humayun Khan Sikandari, On repatriation from Board of Investment, s been transferred as Director General, Directorate General of Post Clearance Audit, Islamabad.
