KARACHI: The Businessmen Panel (BMP) has announced its presidential candidate for the upcoming FPCCI 2018 elections.
A former Senator, Ghulam Ali, has been nominated as the candidates for the post of the President, while Nasir Hayat Magoon, former President KCCI, has been nominated for the post of the Senior Vice President.
A statement on Sunday said that the announcement has been made by BMP Chairman, Mian Anjum Nisar.
He was of the view that `this year our group slogan is "Let's revive FPCCI" so that the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FPCCI) may act accordingly to the wishes of the trade bodies.
He also called for the revival of the R&D department "accordingly to the standards of the FPCCI and other international apex trade bodies". Nisar also called for role in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). "The government should put in place a framework to ensure 100 per cent utilisation of local industry. If we want to benefit from the corridor initiative we have to give our companies their due share in the projects," he maintained.
