ISLAMABAD: A 17 member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Friday dismissed review petition filed by the Federation of Pakistan in a decision given by the apex court on December 16, 2010 announcing the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) 2007 as unconstitutional and non-est.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heading the bench, announced the short order by saying that they were of the considered view that no case was made out for review.
The bench directed authorities concerned to comply with its earlier detailed order on the issue in letter and spirit without any delay.
The bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry comprising Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice Tassadduq Hussain Jillani, Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, Justice Muhammad Sair Ali, Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Justice Tariq Parvez Khan, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany, Justice Amir Hani Muslim, Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Muhammad Ather Saeed heard the case for five days and dismissed the petition.
Dr.Babar Awan Advocate appeared before the court as counsel of the Federation of Pakistan.
