PESHAWAR: Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan Friday announced for making his assets public along with details as how he earned the money and how much tax he paid.
Addressing a press conference here after joining of PTI by Salim Khan, Imran Khan said he is introducing a new trend in politics of the country of making details of assets public. "Within a week I will address a press conference in regard with making my assets public," Imran added. He also stressed upon all the politicians to follow the suit because country cannot develop unless its people properly document their assets and pay taxes.
PTI Chairman said that if he formed the government, he will never get loan or grants from foreign country and try to rely only on our own resources by generating taxes.
He added that it has been demanded by PTI leadership that tickets for electoral contests will be given only to those candidates who have submitted details of their assets with the party.
In response to a question about war on terror, Imran said for the last three years he is pleading for negotiation with Taliban for resolving the problem of militancy. He said earlier people laughed at his idea and now were holding talks with the militants.
The Americans, he continued, have also realized that militancy cannot be rooted out militarily and there is need of holding negotiation with the Taliban.
