Proposals of National Logistic Board approved: Dr. Hafeez

imxxxxxISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh approved different recommendations, proposed by National Logistic Board (NLB) while chairing a meeting here on Thursday.

In a brief presentation, the Director General NLB told the meeting about Monitoring and Coordination Regime, Progress Report- Afghan Transit Trade, Registration of NLC in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Purchase of Light Vehicles and Revised Ration allowance for employees of NLB.

The meeting deliberated at length on the implementation of Monitoring and Coordination regime for US, ISAF, NATO cargo including the already taken measures in computerized documentation, NLC transit Slip Sealing and Scanning of Containers, Installation of tracking devices and opening of check points.

The meeting discussed the measures to avoid any duplication in the functioning of NLC and Customs department of FBR. It was decided that the above recommendations on Monitoring and Coordination regime will be discussed in detail in the next meeting in the presence of Chairman FBR, which was not present today.

The Finance Minister also approved the proposals of increasing service charges of US, ISAF, NATO cargo with effect from January 1, 2012.

The other recommendations, which were approved in the meeting, are "Independent Registration of NLC Developers with Saudi Registration Authority", "New Commercial Registration Agreement between NLC and Qatar JV", "Purchase of 21 light vehicles" and "Revised Ration Allowance for Employees of NLB".
