LONDON: European stock markets slid at the start of trading on Wednesday as weak Chinese and US economic data adds to the gloom from the eurozone debt crisis, traders said.
London's FTSE 100 index dropped 0.80 percent to 5,165.28 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 shed 0.93 percent to 5,485.67 points and in Paris the CAC 40 tumbled 1.06 percent to 2,840.29.
