SHANGHAI: China shares fell 0.1 percent on Monday dragged lower by weakness in financial and property issues after bearish comments by Chinese Vice-Premier Wang Qishan over the global economy further aggravated weak sentiment.
China's Vice-Premier Wang warned on Monday that the global economy remained in a grim state after saying on Sunday that a long-term global recession was certain and China must focus on domestic problems.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2,415.1 points, after a 2.6 percent drop over the week last week. Tunover hit a one-month low of 49 billion yuan.
