In a case related to making objectionable remarks against Hindus ancient figure sage Valmiki, Rakhi Sawant appeared before a Ludhiana court on Thursday wearing a 'burqa' in order to avoid being detected. The court has granted her bail in the matter.
According to Indian Express, The court of judicial magistrate Vishav Gupta granted her bail after Sawant furnished two bail bonds worth Rs 1 lakh each in the court. Her counsel, Rajnish Lakhanpal, said that Sawant’s bail bonds were accepted by the court. “It was a bailable offence and thus her bail bonds were accepted by the court,” he said.
Surrounded by her friends and counsel, Rakhi went to the courtroom keeping everyone guessing about her presence as there was a possibility that people might stage protest against her. There was also a possibility of physical attack. The hearing in the case was scheduled on Friday but Sawant appeared in the court a day before and submitted the bail bonds.
She left immediately after furnishing the bail bonds. Even the police were not aware of her arrival. The court had earlier issued a non-bailable warrant against her and directed police to ensure her presence in the court on July 7.
