SHANGHAI: Chinese shares were down 0.79 percent in morning trade Friday, tracking a plunge in US stocks overnight amid fears of the impact of the European debt crisis, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers A and B shares, was down 19.53 points at 2,443.52.
