KARACHI: Present government is an elected, democratic and popular government of masses and it is endeavouring to resolve problems of people on priority basis.
For this the administration has to play their positive role for redresses of problems, development, progress and solution of problems of common-man particularly the poor.
This was observed by Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, while presiding over a high-level meeting of provincial secretaries and heads of various departments Thursday at C.M. House.
An official announcement said that Chief Secretary Sindh, Raja Muhammad Abbas, Additional Chief Secretary (P&D) Malik Israr, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Wasim Ahmed also attended the meeting.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah maintained that it is the need of the hour to achieve the goal of development and progress in all sectors.
He stressed upon all administrative secretaries and heads of various departments to share their responsibilities for prompt completion of their respective assignments.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah directed the provincial secretaries to take complete interest in the affairs, projects, programmes and schemes of their departments and follow the rules and regulations strictly.
He said that due to floods last year and heavy rains during current year, the development process was badly affected, but yet there are seven months of current financial year remaining and we have to work hard to complete public oriented schemes.
He said the provincial government should pay full attention to unemployed youth. He said that in spite of financial constraints, the funds have been released for development schemes but utilization is very slow.
Qaim Ali Shah warned that the Government will watch the progress of those schemes for three months, and if there is report of non-utilization of funds, strict action will be taken against the negligent officials.
He also directed the provincial secretaries to hold open kutcheries in various parts of the province to resolve public problems. The Chief Secretary assured Qaim Ali Shah that all secretaries and heads of departments will follow the directives and policies of the government and will ensure speedy completion of development schemes. He also assured that the rule of law will be fully adhered to bring better results.
