BERLIN: Chancellor Angela Merkel is ready to meet Italy's Mario Monti as soon as he and his new government are in office, a government spokesman said on Wednesday, adding that Germany hoped Italy would push through reforms.
Merkel values Monti very highly, her spokesman added.
