European stocks slide in opening trade

LONDON: Europe's main stock markets retreated in opening deals on Wednesday, with London's FTSE 100 index down 0.64 percent at 5,482.04 points.

 

Frankfurt's DAX 30 shed 1.01 percent to 5,873.29 points and in Paris the CAC 40 lost 0.35 percent to 3,038.60.
