SHANGHAI: Chinese shares were down 0.25 percent in morning trade Tuesday after broad gains in the previous session, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was down 6.27 points at 2522.44. The benchmark index rose 1.92 percent Monday on signs of progress in tackling Europe's debt crisis.
