PBC hails Justice Zahid Hussain appointment

The Punjab Bar Council appreciated the appointment of Justice Syed Zahid Hussain as Chief Justice of Lahore High Court and called for withdrawal of decisions regarding cancellation of licenses of the PBC Vice Chairman and other Bar members.
In its meeting, which was held with its Vice Chairman Tariq Javed Warriach in the chair here on Tuesday, the PBC also rejected the amendments in the Bar Council Practitioner Act and termed it a conspiracy against the unity of the Bar and its members.
The meeting also asked the Bar members to continue with the boycott of the judges who have taken oath under the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO). It also demanded reinstatement of the deposed judges, including Justice Itikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
