Zardari takes notice of attack on Hindu community in Shikarpur
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has taken a serious note of attack on some members of the Hindu community in Taluka Chak District Shikarpur on Wednesday and called for a report in the matter.
Three Hindus were reportedly killed and one sustained serious injuries when assailed in their village.
Presidential Spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said that the President has asked for immediate arrest of the culprits and bring them to justice.
He said that the President also instructed Ramesh Lal MNA to proceed to the place of the incident and convey his condolences to the bereaved families.
President Zardari said that it was the moral and legal responsibility of the government to protect members of the minorities against vandalism and atrocities. He said that the law would take its course and the culprits will not go unpunished.
