KARACHI: Tropical cyclone “KEILA” has weakened and is likely to weaken further during the next 24 hours, the Met Office said on Thursday.

“Western disturbance is persisting over northern area,” the forecaster says more rain in different parts of the country is expected to fall in the next 24 hours.

It says scattered rain/thunderstorm is likely to hit upper Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, and

Gilgit-Baltistan/Kashmir while Makran division and lower Sindh are expected to receive isolated rain/thunderstorm.

In the next 48 hours, the office says isolated thunderstorm/rain likely in Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan on Saturday. However, dry weather is expected to rain in most parts of the country.

Scattered rain/thunderstorm hit Makran division and isolated rain Peshawar, Hazara, Malakand, Gilgit-Baltistan/Kashmir and lower Sindh in the last 24 hours, the Met Office says.

Gawadar, Patan and Parachinar received 25 mm respectively, Ormara and Jiwani 16 mm each, Dir 14 mm, Kalam 12 mm, Malamjabba and Pasni 6 mm respectively, according to the office.

Met Office says, the highest temperature was recorded in Rahim Yar Khan as 35 degree centigrade and lowest in Kalat and Zhob as 1 degree centigrade in the last 24 hours.

Karachi’s weather is expected to remain partly cloudy with changes of drizzle in the next 24 hours with maximum temperature to range between 30 degree centigrade and 32 degree centigrade, the forecaster added.
